Week 51: July 23-29, 2019: Photos to Last a Life Time

Hey Everyone,

So, this past week has been full of a ton of adventures and awesome miracles. To start off the week we have been able to find an awesome new investigator named Sergio! He is super positive and wants to finally be baptized 2 years now after his daughter was baptized and 1 year after his wife. He has a really strong desire to follow God, but his addiction to smoking has really hindered his progress towards that goal. This past week we were able to set a goal with him and he has been able to almost half the number of cigarettes he used to smoke. We are so excited to work with him to be able to follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized!

Also this past Sunday I had an awesome opportunity to talk with Elder Martinez an Elder of the quorum of the 70. I was able to give a really cool talk on Member Missionary work and how you can support the missionary work. Often I felt my self before the mission unsure of what to say or do, or really what it even is. Over time I have been able to understand at a more deeper level what really is needed from the members to help support missionary work. You can Find, Teach, and Keep. What does this mean exactly? help the missionaries find people, or in other words share your testimony of Christ through invitations and the way you live. Another thing one can do is Teach, Teach with the missionaries, Teach yourself what the restoration the plan of salvation, the gospel of Jesus Christ and the commandments mean to you, and Finally help Keep the fruits of the labors of the missionaries, be friends of the recent converts help them keep their covenants and invite them to follow Christ. All of these things if every member can implicate them in their lives will truly become disciples of Christ!

So a few weeks ago after taking a selfie on a bridge in the rain, my camera fell out of my pocket. Five minutes after realizing it my companion and I ran back to look for it. but no avail. After missing the bus and carrying a load ton of groceries it began to downpour super hard, we ended up getting up an hour later sopping wet it was really crappy. It made me realize how much I treasure my time on the mission and oh how much I just love it. I really missed having the camera. Anyways this past Wednesday on the way to district class while on the bikes my companion's bike died and his pedal fell off, so we decided to lock up our bikes on that same street, and run to district class to make sure I was on time to teach it Haha. We had a great class and afterward we had interviews with President Maldonado, they too also ended up being great. While waiting for Hermana Maldonado drove us to our homes for House checks, on the way we asked Hermana Maldonado if we could pick up our bikes because we were far away to walk them to the bike shop. When we turned onto the street the bikes WERE GONE! or a least I thought for a few seconds, they were just two lampposts farther up the street. (got ya) As we got out to put the bikes in the car a teenager came running up to me and asked me if I had lost a camera a few weeks earlier. I told him yes and he ran back to his house and returned it to me. Sometimes we don't even have hope of something good happening but hope can be found in the sketchiest of places if one only turns to the right source. While searching for that camera, I prayed so strongly for God's help to find it. After not finding it after 15 mins of searching for it in the pouring rain, I gave up, especially after leaving the very place it was lost. Especially after 3 or Four weeks of not having it. But God truly answers our prayers in His own due time. 

So I have finally reached a year in the mission this Wednesday. I can not say how grateful I truly am to have this experience. It truly has taught me so much. I have grown closer to my heavenly father and savior. I love this gospel so much. If anyone is debating going on a mission, DO IT. It will be hard but it WILL be worth it!

Week 50: July 16-22, 2019: Rain and Running

Hey Everyone,

So, we were able to have a really awesome opportunity to work with the Youth of four stakes at an EFY here in Pachuca. So we were told that we must be at the chapel by 3:45, so we all ways have our lunch appointment at 3:00 so after finishing eating, we had to hurry to the activity. As usually, my luck goes haha, just before finishing eating, it begins to pour. Pour! the streets began to flood with water, unable to absorb so many huge droplets. Not wanting to be late the four missionaries of this ward began to sprint towards the metro station, the rain pounding on us and filling up Pachuca. It literally looked like we had jumped in a pool with how wet we were. It was a blast when we finally arrived at the chapel, we were soaked to the bone. There we were able to sing Called to Serve, it was a really cool experience, as a Zone, we sang with many ex missionaries, to a group of 400+ youth. It really was so cool to feel the spirit testify of this sacred work, and it was even cooler to know that I am one of those missionaries. Truly God is mindful of us and loves us. He knows our needs and knows who needs our help. Even though we were soaked, We could see the difference our hymn made for these kids. It was a great experience. 

Funny story: so this past Sunday 14th we told an hermana about an Investigator that is her age and single too like her and that maybe we could set them up! This Sunday, almost have completely forgotten of this, hermana Conchita comes up to my companion after church and was like "Elders, where is my Eternal Exaltation?" This Hermana was dead serious and I just busted up laughing. She literally had just missed him leave the chapel. So, just a quick reminder never give up hope looking for that special someone JAJA. And if you have someone, hold onto them even harder! Love you ALL!

Week 48-49 July 1-15, 2019 President Has Come to Town

Hey Everyone,                                                                                       July 15, 2019

Haha As it says in the title President Maldonado has finally gotten to Pachuca! This happened a while back (about 3 weeks) but I haven't written for a few weeks, been super busy! It was so cool to finally get to know him, he truly is a man sent from God. I know he will be a great President! He truly wants the best for the people here in Pachuca! He is a really kind man! Also Happy fourth of July! A little late but I hope you all enjoyed your firework shows. That day we sung the national anthem in all of our teaching appointments. It was GREAT!

My companion and I were able to have a really cool experience with one of our investigators. Vania is a fourteen old girl her mother is an inactive member of over 20 years. Anyways by pure divine intervention, we were able to find and have been able to teach this lovely family. Vania has many health problems and one of the reoccurring issues that she has is painful skin rashes that are caused by many things such a stress, usually they last for weeks on end. At the beginning of one of these rashes we had the opportunity to visit her without knowing that she had a rash. When we got there, we saw her red raw arms and offered her a blessing. Two hours after giving her the blessing the rash was completely gone. It was a really cool miracle to see the power of God bless this 14 year old Life. He truly cares about each of our struggles and wants to bless and help us with them. All we need is ask. Ask in faith for his divine help. 

God loves each and everyone of us. He wants to Guide us to reach our full potential all we need is follow him! LOVE YOU ALL!

Week 47: June 24-30, 2019 Return to Actopan

Hey Everyone,                                                                 June 24, 2019

This past week I had the amazing opportunity to return to my old area, and be a part of the baptismal services of Rocio Gusman. I got a phone call Wednesday notifying me that Rocio was going to be baptized and wanted me to perform the ordinance. It was such a beautiful experience, it was amazing to know that their family was still progressing and getting one step closer to exaltation. I am so grateful for our loving heavenly father, He truly has made this plan for our happiness. Keep up your scripture reading! The small things really do make a difference! I love you all!! 

Also, I am still in Pitahayas and now I am with Elder Perez from Chiapas Mexico.
