Week 67: November 5-18, 2019 Mi Amigo el Apostol

Hey Everyone,

This week we had the amazing opportunity to hear from an apostle of our Lord Jesus Christ come and Speak to us. It was a super awesome conference and I learned a lot of principles that I will use throughout my life. But if you would like a summary of what Elder Soares said go watch General conference and watch it from the point of view of a missionary.

We had a really amazing experience this past Friday. One of our investigators named Alejandra recently, had her son passed away. Since then she was given a small statue of the Santa Muerte and had a pact sealed upon her that if she wore it she would always be safe. We especially as missionaries understand that this is a form of Idolatry that Satan uses to trap people. As we prayed and taught Alejandra about the importance of only worshiping God. Although she was scared to do so she was finally able to overcome her fear to be able to take off the necklace. It was such a sweet spirit to have take a step of faith and follow through.
Funny story! so this past Sunday. An older sister that we have visited a few times, finally came to church. The problem with this hermana, is that she has dementia, a speech impediment is slightly crazy, and is 85% deaf. When we have visited her we can barely understand her, she talks to her hand to call people from her old ward in Tulancingo (about two hours away from here) and tries to show us her garments.  Her daughter is an angry menos activo that refuses to take her mother to church. What surprised us was that the woman, sister Paolita, was with a different family. Soon after the sacrament meeting, we introduced ourselves to the family and found out they were from Tulancingo and that the previous Sunday, Hermana Paolita escaped from her apartment and somehow managed to make it to the 9 am sacrament meeting in Tulancingo. This made our week and reminded me of the importance we have to attend church every Sunday. Arrangements have been made to help the hermana come here in Providencia instead of the ward in Tulancingo. You, yes you whom is reading this letter, have the power to go to church. Take advantage of every opportunity to partake of the sacrament. This Hermana even though she had severe disabilities made every effort to attend. Do we do the same?

LOVE YOU ALL!

LOVE,
ELDER SNOW
